Scope and Contents
This series contains audio recordings captured by Eugene B. Sloan of speeches made by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Ku Klux Klan Grand Dragon Robert Scoggin in 1967 and Ralph Abernathy in 1969. It also contains recordings by WIS TV and the University of South Carolina of King's visit to Charleston and recordings of Sloan family events.

Conditions Governing Access
There are no restrictions on this collection. However, the Avery Research Center does not have the technology required for researchers to listen to the reel-to-reels. A cassette player will be made available to researchers in the Avery Research Center's Reading Room to listen to the audiocassettes.
