Pete Peters video collection
The Pete Peters video collection contains 19 Type C 1-inch one-hour video reels from the never completed documentary entitled Catch the Song, which was written and produced by John Wise. The aim of the project was to document the African roots of the Sea Island Gullah culture. Eventually, SCETV, who was funding the documentary, thought the project was taking too long to complete, and Wise could no longer afford their services.
Phaethornis philippi (Philippi's hermit) print
The Phaethornis philippi is depicted on a plate numbered 21 in John Gould's A monograph of the Trochilidae, or, family of humming-birds. London: published by the author, 1861. This colored lithograph was drawn by H.C. Richter from Gould's sketches and printed by Hullmandel & Walter. Also included with the plate is the page which describes this South American hummingbird.
Phillips family papers
